Erica is a doctorate level clinical psychologist, specializing in adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and issues relating to interpersonal relationships. A highly-sensitive person (HSP) and empath herself, Erica is enthusiastic about working with clients who share these ‘superpowers’ which at times can feel burdensome.

Erica credits her ongoing commitment to both personal and professional development as essential to her work as a therapist. This means Erica’s clients can trust she has done the work’ herself, which she continues. While personal commitment to individual therapy is not required for licensed therapists, this well established distinction maintains profound influence to the effectiveness of therapy, elevating the overall experience.

Erica draws from transpersonal (spiritual), existential, and psychodynamic (attachment) theories to inform her approaches. She seeks to foster introspection, self-awareness and reflection; skills which can serve an individual throughout their lifetime. Foundational to all approaches is the therapeutic relationship co-created by client and therapist, whereby individuals can feel safe to travel beyond their comfort zones to deeply explore.

Erica’s belief in the mind-body relationship means she will incorporate an individual’s lifestyle routines into both assessment and treatment. She is particularly interested in gut health and the role of the vagus nerve (polyvagal theory) in addressing various emotional health issues. Ultimately, Erica considers it an honor to bear witness to an individual’s journey, regarding each client’s process with unwavering reverence.

Erica received both her Master’s Degree and her Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology from the the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University. Erica is licensed to practice Clinical Psychology in the State of Michigan.

Consistent throughout Erica’s career has been her love and curiosity for people of other cultures. To date she has visited 36 countries across Southeast Asia, the Levant and West Asia (The Middle East), the Anatolian peninsula, and Eastern Africa. Erica has worked as a psychologist in several countries, many in active war zones, providing care and education.
